TIME INC. HEADQUARTERS
In 2015, Time Inc. relocated from its longtime home in the Time & Life Building to a new headquarters at 225 Liberty Street in downtown Manhattan. Time Inc.’s footprint within the Brookfield Place complex spans 700,000 square feet across eight floors. The design includes many amenity and specialty spaces, including a 350-seat auditorium, several video and photo studios, a 160-seat cafeteria, multiple test kitchens, and a wine room. In addition, Time Inc.’s new space includes technology spaces supported by UPS power and CRAH units for critical cooling. PowerCon was chosen to provide MEP|FP commissioning services for the buildout.
PowerCon commissioned all MEP|FP infrastructure equipment individually and in concert with one another. Specialty tests included an emergency generator pull-the-plug test, a room validation test for the MDF Room, and an integrated systems test of all kitchen equipment to confirm complete system operability prior to opening the cafeteria. PowerCon also provided MEP|FP commissioning services for Time Inc.’s new 55,000 sqft office in Brooklyn.
